Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant must work with other accounting department team members to ensure departmental deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee close schedule for the corporate accounting group. Give updates on status and timing of deadlines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare/Review Journal Entries – calculates and/or reviews journal entries with data from system-generated reports or other sources for a variety of general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile/Review General Ledger Account Reconciliations – maintains/reviews the reconciliations for a variety of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Performs financial analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.
- Perform special projects as needed, including various ad hoc analyses.
- Assists in the preparation of financial statement and footnote schedules and disclosures for filings of SEC periodic reports, such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced Excel experience
- Excellent organizational, analytical, numerical, verbal, and written communication
- Ability to effectively communicate with other departments within the organization.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Ensure departmental deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
Education Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience a plus
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (4 to 8 hours).
