About the Job
A stable, well known corporation in the retail industry is currently seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a highly visible position and will work closely with the CFO and Controller.
The purpose of the Sr. Accountant role is to provide support in General Accounting. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely close.
THE ROLE
•Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
•Support the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
•Prepare journal entries for monthly close.
•Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis
•Monitor and manager tax filings, including reconciliation of tax liability accounts to payments and tax filings
•Reconciliation of various accounts pertain to Lease Accounting
•Process base rent and percent rent payment on a monthly basis
•Identification, recording, valuation, accounting, reporting and timely capitalization of capital projects, review and update the fixed asset rollforward schedules
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting.
•3+ years experience.
•Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to multi-task and manage several projects or tasks simultaneously.
•Proficient with Excel (advanced), Word and Outlook.
