Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, financial reporting, and the month-end and year-end closing process. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies for financial transactions.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and coordinate the year-end audit and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
- Analyze variances and assist in financial data analysis to support business decisions.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA candidate is a plus).
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
