Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our downtown Los Angeles firm. As a leading architecture firm, we are known for our innovative designs and commitment to sustainability. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing our financial operations and supporting our growth.
In this hybrid role, the Senior Accountant will work closely with our Finance Manager and project teams to oversee accounting processes, manage budgets, and ensure accurate financial reporting. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in accounting, ideally with experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Project Accounting: Oversee project cost accounting, budget tracking, and profitability analysis for ongoing projects.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee AP/AR functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely collections.
- General Ledger: Manage general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy in postings and month-end closings.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, labor laws, and internal financial policies.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Deltek), MS Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and project accounting principles.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
