About the Job
The Senior Accountant responsibilities include preparing GAAP compliant financial statements, ad hoc reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to report MCG financials.
Prepare Consolidated financial statements for all operating companies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of operating company submissions and intercompany eliminations.
Record and manage opening balance sheet entries for future acquisitions to ensure accurate financial reporting and GAAP compliance.
Deploy and manage DataRails software to streamline financial data consolidation and standardize reporting processes across multiple operating companies.
Utilize Microsoft Power BI to analyze financial data, generate reports, and provide management with actionable insights.
Assist MCG Functional team in maintaining and optimizing operating company ERP systems for financial processes, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
Work directly with operating company finance teams and external vendors to support the annual external audit by providing supporting schedules, evidence, and process overview.
Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and any issues of noncompliance.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
Minimum of five years in accounting (experience in public accounting preferred).
CPA certification preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in generally accepted accounting principles and best practices.
Strong background in percentage of completion accounting within a manufacturing environment, ERP systems, Power BI and a proficiency in DataRails, is a plus.

Work Environments and Physical Demands:
FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
This role will work in an office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards and engage in staff.
Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs
Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
