Our agriculture based metro client is seeking an individual to join their Finance Team as a Senior Accountant in a temporary to hire scenario!
This position will play an active role in the month-end close and financial reporting process, the ideal senior accountant candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong analytical, problem-solving, along with superior accounting skills and a strong desire to learn.
Responsibilities:
· The chief responsibility of the senior accountant is to maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports
· Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for the month-end close process
· Prepare journal entries with the review for accuracy and evaluate accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles(GAAP)
· Ensure monthly accruals, allocations, and other complex journal entries are accurate as new information is obtained
· Prepare, review, and submit documentation in support of external and internal audits
· Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close process, understanding and utilizing the appropriate information systems and technology
· An ideal senior accountant candidate will assist in evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls and related documentation
Ideal Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
· Proficient with MS Word & Excel
· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as a senior accountant is critical
· Experience in SAP Systems or similar large ERP system is a plus
· Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources
Work Environment:
Our client is currently operating in a hybrid work model, 2 days in office @ their Mendota Heights location.
Process:
This team has success hiring senior accountant candidates on a temporary/contract to hire basis, thus 6-8 months as a contract employee through CFS(Creative Financial Staffing) before the opportunity to convert as a direct-hire employee.
Compensation:
The contract portion will be paid as a W2 hourly employee, with an ideal pay rate of $40.00 - $50.00/hr, benefits are eligible after 3 months on assignment.
The senior accountant position will convert at a range of $82-$89k/year, based on previous experience and qualifications, along with a full benefits package.
