Position Title: Senior Accountant
Location: New York City (2 days in office, ideally Tuesday and Thursday)
Occasional Travel: Up to twice a year to Seattle
Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000 base salary + 20% annual bonus
Industry: Financial Services (ideal but open to the right candidate)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate accounting, with a strong background in revenue processes
This role is suited for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of enhancing existing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close Process:Record and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Monthly Reconciliations and Roll Forwards:Perform reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurately rolled forward.
Lease Accounting:Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
Expense and Revenue Recording:Record monthly expenses and revenues, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
Expense and Revenue Variance Analysis:Analyze variances in monthly expense and revenue reports.
Monthly Management Reporting:Prepare and present management reports including:Balance Sheet
Profit & Loss Statement
Statement of Cash Flows
Process Improvement:Take ownership of existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes as needed.
Excel Proficiency:Strong skills in Excel for reporting and analysis.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in corporate accounting, with a focus on revenue processes.
Experience in the financial services industry is preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of month-end close processes and financial reporting.
Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting.
Ability to analyze and report on expense and revenue variances.
Excellent Excel skills and experience in financial analysis.
Proactive attitude with a willingness to roll up sleeves and enhance existing processes.

the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
