KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in Portsmouth, NH in their search to hire a Senior Accountant. This role is essential for supporting various accounting functions, including ownership of general ledger management, reconciliations, financial statement analysis, and assisting with month end and annual close processes.
The ideal candidate will possess strong, hands on experience managing the general ledger, balance sheet accounts, journal entry creation and provide the confidence in providing a accurate, smooth month end close. This position is open to a strong staff accountant out of a mid to large size company looking to become a Senior Accountant or a current Senior Accountant seeking growth, stability and great work life balance. Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant position:
- Journal Entries & Reconciliation: Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial records, supporting monthly closing processes.
- Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements to identify significant variances and document explanations to assist management with financial insights and reporting accuracy.
- Audit Preparation: Contribute to quarterly reviews and the annual audit by organizing and preparing audit schedules, gathering necessary documentation, and providing data to auditors.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend ways to improve efficiency within accounting processes
- Audit Collaboration: Serve as a resource for both internal and external auditors, facilitating information sharing and responding to audit-related inquiries.
- Create and update internal accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance and support consistent operations.
- Accrual Management: Prepare and post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to ensure precise financial reporting.
- Fixed Asset Oversight: Manage the fixed asset ledger, tracking new acquisitions, disposals, and sales, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of asset changes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline
- 5+years of relevant accounting experience, within a general ledger focused position
- Prior manufacturing accounting experience is preferred but not required
- Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Salary: $75,000-$90,000+ Bonus Based on experience + Excellent Benefits
