Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts
Essential Duties:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support funding and disbursement processes.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and post close analysis.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Master’s degree in accounting a PLUS.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle several tasks in a high-volume, high paced environment.
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP’s, IF statements, Pivot tables) required.
- Candidate must have experience in QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Responsible and dependable with a polite and professional manner.
- Equipment leasing experience a PLUS.
- 6+ Accounting experience.

Additional Skills:
- Excellent relational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong working knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. To be evidenced by the following:

- Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

- Written Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Written work product requires little if any grammar and /or spelling corrections.
- Diplomacy. The ability to maintain a pleasant manner, tact, and diplomacy in challenging circumstances.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to be productive and efficient under varying volumes of workload and rapidly shifting priorities.
