The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization while having the opportunity to shape and refine our accounting operations. Reporting to the Controller, you will gain exposure to various areas of accounting, including revenue, general ledger, and commissions, while working closely with the Finance team and cross-functional departments. This role offers a unique chance to build processes from the ground up, improve existing systems, and make a direct impact through process improvements and collaboration. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor others and grow professionally as you navigate the dynamic challenges of this role. What you'll be working on:
- Sales Contract Reviews: Analyze sales contracts to identify revenue implications and ensure adherence to company policies and accounting guidelines.
- Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable standards, partnering with cross-functional teams to review sales transactions and contracts.
- General Ledger Oversight: Manage the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, and assist with variance analysis to provide insights into business performance.
- Commission Calculations: Calculate and review sales commissions based on sales agreements, ensuring accurate and timely payout to sales staff, and provide insights to management regarding commission-related expenses.
- Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, preparing audit schedules, and implementing recommendations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations, including automating workflows and improving reporting capabilities.
What we're looking for: (Job Requirements/Must have)
- 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting (required)
- 2+ years of experience in revenue recognition (preferred but not required)
- Experience in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end close processes
- Prior experience in sales contract review for revenue implications (preferred)
- Experience with internal or external audits and compliance reporting (preferred)
- Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards
- Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting regulations (preferred)
- Willingness to take initiative and drive process improvements in accounting operations

The base salary for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards.
