About the Job
Position Function
The primary function of this position is to prepare the company's internal and external financial statements to ensure the integrity and accuracy of monthly reporting and manage the day-to-day treasury functions to meet the financial obligations of the cooperative.
Duties And Responsibilities
Prepare various monthly financial statements and analytical reports.
Assist in month end close procedures.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
Prepare and maintain prepayments, accruals, debt roll-forwards, and other schedules.
Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash projections.
Respond to inquiries from and prepare periodic reports for senior management.
Ensure appropriate analyses are timely, accurate, and communicate results.
File various tax returns with the State of Mississippi Department of Revenue.
Provide reports and necessary information to external auditors.
Perform treasury activities related to cash flow, borrowings, debt, and capital management.
Perform bank reconciliations of select accounts.
Make payments and wire transfers for loan payments and wholesale power payments.
Assist with power cost adjustment calculation and analysis.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, such as RUS and GAAP.

Position Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced skills in data analysis and financial modeling.
Experience with Tableau and data analytics is desirable.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Possess the ability to handle a variety of tasks and organize work to meet varying deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Respect for and ability to exercise sound judgement in the handling of confidential data.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Be able to gain and maintain the respect of others, both inside and outside the cooperative.
Possess a valid Mississippi driver's license. Must be eligible to be and remain insured as a driver by the cooperative's group liability policy for the automotive fleet.
