This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.?
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Accounting the Senior Accountant will perform accounting procedures in support of monthly and year-end accounting, reconciliations and closing activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts for Edison Electric Institute and other institutions (CEWD, TAEF, LAMPAC)

Assist with annual audit preparation

Manage monthly recording of investment income

Prepare and process journal entries and budget amendments

Maintain fixed assets for state (DC) books

Recording additions, disposals and preparation of annual DC personal property tax return

Provide support in preparation of annual 990 tax return

Assist with inquiries involving Business Central, Cvent and non-routine revenue transactions.

Assist with expense management system set-up and maintenance
-
Provide guidance on expense report and reconciliations

Special projects as assigned to include tax research and tax related issues.

Manage PowerPac’s political contribution disbursements and monthly reporting to FEC

Lobbying and political reporting as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS?
-
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience. CPA is a plus.

A minimum of 5 years of general ledger experience, to include knowledge in accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Advanced MS Excel skills required.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

Excellent communication skills and strong team player

Tax experience preferred.

Experience in Business Central, Cvent and Concur a plus.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this role begins at $75,000-$90,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of the base salary.
