Vaco is staffing a direct hire opportunity for a Senior Accountant of Financial Reporting in the Wildlight area of Yulee, FL. This is a hybrid role and looking to interview and hire immediately.
The role supports the financial reporting process through the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, earnings release materials, quarterly forecasts, and annual budget and long-range plan presentations. Research, collect and analyze financial data, ensuring that all reporting follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and the company’s accounting policies. Assist external auditors and special projects as needed.
Located at the headquarters office in Wildlight, FL with a hybrid work format. Individuals are required to work at the headquarters office three days a week (Tue, Wed & Thu).
Primary Responsibilities
- Preparation of the annual report and quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings (including footnotes and management’s discussion and analysis).
- Preparation of internal business reports including quarterly forecasts and the annual budget and long-range plan to be presented to the Board of Directors.
- Assist in the annual financial statement audit and quarterly financial statement reviews by providing supporting documentation/explanations to the external audit team.
- Perform technical accounting research, inclusive of evaluating new GAAP or SEC reporting requirements. Compile research into summarized results for management to outline the impact to the company.
- Prepare benefit plan financial statements, including the Form 11-K filings with the SEC.
- Assist with internal controls, including updates to process control narratives and annual walkthroughs with external auditors.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems, work processes and procedures.
- Other special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or higher
- CPA required
- Minimum of three years of progressive accounting work experience.
- Current understanding of U.S. GAAP (and its application), SEC rules and regulations, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and turnaround requests in a high-pressure, time-constrained situation.
- A working knowledge of excel, word and basic general ledger skills are required.
- Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues from various departments within the organization.
