Job DescriptionThis position is a hybrid opportunity. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will contribute to a world-class finance team in rapid growth and emerging environment and report to our Accounts Payable Manager. The finance team serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors and works closely with business partners daily. Intrinsic motivation, curiosity, persistence, and collaboration will be critical to thrive in this role. You will partner and problem-solve with colleagues across several business teams; therefore, strong interpersonal communication skills are required, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day oversight of the AP helpdesk, ensuring inquiries are assigned, tracked, and resolved promptly.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Basware, providing system guidance, troubleshooting issues, monitoring statements matched in Basware, and optimizing reconciliation processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow.
- Review invoices while identifying and recording multi-period and prepaid expenses for proper allocation in the general ledger.
- Monitor and manage prepaid expenses within the workbench, ensuring accurate tracking and timely clearing.
- Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing accruals and verifying expense allocations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices and payments.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics required.
- Working in a public company preferred.
- A Mnimum 5 years Accounts Payable work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills in Excel (formulas, functions, pivot tables, Power Query)
- Must have large ERP AP systems experience (Oracle Fusion a plus)
- Possess solid understanding of accounts payable principles
- Ability to effectively work across teams and levels, both within the accounting functions, and across functions, including tax, supply chain, and IT
- Must be adaptable, agile, able to multi-task and take on additional responsibilities as necessary.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency towards attaining department goals, issue resolution and meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability to work both independently and in a matrixed team environment, shifting between the role of an individual contributor and team player.
Work Environment:
Employees may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Much of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is $34.03 to $45.91. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
