Not-for-Profit Organization dedicated to the spirit of serving thoise in need have an immediate opening for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist. As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to the mission by ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the corporate accounts payable processes.
Position Overview: The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the accounts payable function. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of accounting principles and a passion for supporting a mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling complex transactions, optimizing processes, and providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, verification, approval, and payment processing.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and electronic payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Vendor Relations:
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and manage inquiries related to payments and account status.
- Review and resolve vendor statements and discrepancies.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain documentation for accounts payable procedures.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain proper internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
- Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, including system upgrades and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector is preferred but not required.
