About You
You are a driven and experienced attorney with a deep passion for family law. With over 5 years of experience—with a goal to be board certified—you bring a book of business that you are eager to grow within a highly respected firm. You are dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services, guiding clients through the complexities of family law, and helping them restore balance in their lives with empathy and professionalism. You thrive under pressure, have a keen eye for detail, and possess excellent communication skills. Additionally, you are a strong mentor, eager to share your expertise and collaborate with a dedicated team to make a meaningful impact on families. You have a sense of curiosity to improve the process and the practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage a busy family law docket from client intake through litigation to file closure.
- Oversee both your current and growing book of business.
- Draft, organize, and manage discovery documents; conduct legal research; and participate in court appearances, mediations, and other client-focused assignments.
- Support the firm’s robust ADR and Collaborative Divorce practice.
- Participate in professional organizations, such as Houston Young Lawyers, HBA-Family Law Section, Inns of Court.
- Uphold the standards outlined in the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Current license to practice law in Texas.
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and diplomatic skills in high-conflict cases.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, take direction, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Flexibility in working hours and the ability to adapt to last-minute changes and deadlines.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
