Senior Auditor

A boutique public accounting firm a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join their growing team!  This role offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with public accounting experience in the nonprofit and/or affordable housing sector. The Senior Auditor will contribute to financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making processes critical to our firm’s success. This opportunity will offer a primarily remote schedule, with the occasional travel to the office located in the Bay Area. 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements for our portfolio companies and investment funds
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, including variance analysis and performance metrics
• Assist in the administration of investment funds, including capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
• Facilitate audits by external auditors and manage audit deliverables
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices
• Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Work closely with investment professionals and other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA required 
• 2-4 years of Audit experience within Public Accounting with exposure to nonprofit or affordable housing clients
• Strong understanding of investment accounting principles, including fair value measurements and GAAP
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
