This position requires on-site availability and is considered non-exempt (hourly).
The Sr. Automation Analyst position with PPOSBC will play a crucial role in streamlining and optimizing our operations through the implementation of automation solutions. The role will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing efficiency, reducing manual processes, and improving the overall quality of patient care. The specialized expertise in identifying automation opportunities, designing workflows, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies will drive transformative change within our healthcare system.
The Sr. Automation Analyst will use the application, interface engine, API, automation, and systems expertise to engage organization units to help translate operational needs into technical solutions by being the primary resource for Automation support-related requests. One must have the ability to develop custom applications and design workflows. This role will be responsible for the advanced administration of Automation for clinical and business systems. The analyst will serve as the primary escalation resource for performing regular system Automation maintenance tasks on clinical and business applications, instruments, and other related technologies. The analyst will be key in supporting enhancement projects as well as promoting a high level of service, knowledge, and skill among the rest of the application support team through the sharing of information and documentation of problem resolution while actively participating in standard change management processes.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties, and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
- Automation Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyst existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas suitable for automation. Formulate a comprehensive automation workplan aligned with the organization’s goals, compliance requirements, and patient care objectives.
- Process Automation Implementation: Lead the design, software development, and deployment of solutions to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks, such as data entry, claims processing, scheduling, and billing. Work with automation tools and scripting languages to create efficient and error-free autonomous systems.
- Workflow Optimization: Evaluate end-to-end processes, including patient onboarding, clinical documentation, and administrative procedures. Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and implement automated workflows to optimize resource utilization.
- Data Integration and Analytics: Develop workplans to integrate data from various healthcare systems and sources. Utilize analytics tools to analyze data patterns, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making for process improvement.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Conduct thorough testing of automation processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve automation solutions.
- Training and Support: Provide training sessions and support for end-users and team members on utilizing automation tools and technologies effectively. Foster a culture of automation adoption across the organization.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of automation processes, updates, and outcomes. Generate regular reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the impact of automation initiatives.
- Security and Compliance: Adhere to strict security and compliance protocols, ensuring that all automation solutions meet HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare automation. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance skill and knowledge to keep the organization at the forefront of automation advancements.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; However, additional years of directly relevant experience or equivalent combination may be considered.
Minimum Work Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing and delivering software automation is required
- Proven 5+ years of experience implementing, upgrading, and configuring system automation required, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare, ambulatory care setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of healthcare processes, workflows, and regulations.
- Proven experience and working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records & Practice Management systems is a plus.
- Fluent in a variety of programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
- Strong knowledge of data integration and analytics tools like SSRS, SSIS, Tableau, or PowerBI.
- Proficient in C#, .NET framework and knowledge of its ecosystems. Writing reusable libraries.
- Basic understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR), its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds.
- Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Expertise with API technologies, including healthcare-related technology, such as HL7 and FHIR.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership and collaboration abilities, along with solid time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of security, system, and software best practices and methodologies.
- Strong project management skills or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, etc.
- Able to research application performance, development issues, and enterprise projects.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Respect for confidentiality and possess good judgment.

- This position requires travel to other sites and locations; if using a personal vehicle to meet this requirement, a valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
