Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AV Engineer to be the subject matter expert for projects supporting the Department of Homeland Security St. Elizabeth's Campus in Washington, DC. A Top Secret Clearance and DHS EOD is required for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting, repair and general support of AV systems Campus wide. This includes Conference Rooms, Conference Centers, and Operations Centers with video walls, Board Rooms, Executive Level Suites, etc. AV Equipment and systems include (but is not limited to) microphones, speakers, cameras, equipment credenzas/racks, video walls, individual televisions, projectors, and the campus Haivision IPTV system.
- May include integrating new systems into existing systems.
- De-installing end-of-life/end-of-service devices and cabling and systems in support of tech refresh efforts across the Campus.
- Support the Engineering staff with programming and provisioning of systems.
- Comprehensive testing AV systems post-repair/upgrade to ensure quality, signal connection, and operational readiness.
- Utilize Service Now ticketing system for issue tracking, documentation and resolution.
- Access and maintain stock of system repair parts on campus and utilize inventory spreadsheets to back fill inventory from warehouse to campus.
- Collect, organize and document stock of failed system parts for shipment to repair facility as requested by tech lead.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Ability to place devices and create flow diagrams for AV systems in AutoCAD required
- Experience in the following areas: Enterprise IP Television (IPTV), Enterprise Videoconferencing, Complex AV Presentation and Briefing Systems, Knowledge Wall Solutions
- Experience with the following vendors: Evertz, Haivision, DirecTV, Technicolor, Cisco, AMX, Extron, Crestron
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience required.
- Must have existing U.S. Government Top Secret clearance
- Must have or be able to obtain a DHS EOD
- Must be willing to work on-site in Washington, DC
