About the Job
Intrepid Solutions is seeking a Senior AV Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Team comprised of AV SMEs, AMX/Crestron/Extron programmers, integration technicians, and maintenance technicians. Our O&M Team provides AV communications and media support for AV-related system components and programs for our customer.
Responsibilities:- Serve as the Senior AV Engineer on our O&M Team, working closely with our customer’s AV Leads and TPOCS to manage operational needs and coordinate the team’s response to issues and outages.
- Shape, refine, monitor, and manage the technical aspects of our O&M Team’s work. Provide hands-on mentoring, leadership, and guidance to the technical team while following customer SOPs and sound AV Operations & Maintenance practices.
- Our Senior AV Engineer will work closely with the O&M Team Lead, together the two serving as the O&M Team’s leadership core, both of whom report directly to the Program Manager.
- Conduct hardware maintenance and minor installations on equipment that exists within the facilities or equipment that is utilized from the O&M bench stock/spares.
- Ensure the O&M Team Maintenance Technicians are properly managing the ticketing system for AV-related tickets, applying notes where applicable, responding to tickets in a timely manner, and closing tickets once resolutions have been applied and confirmed.
- Undertake minor system tasks (e.g., loading software and rebooting systems) in support of hardware maintenance and operations functions.
- Install and incorporate new releases, updates, or other changes to COTS hardware and software (diagnostics failures or potential failure predictions).
- Operate and apply automated hardware management and diagnostics systems, including remote management and diagnostics) and interpret findings to maintain, repair, or upgrade hardware.
- Coordinate the maintenance of AV equipment, working with the customer and the O&M Team to schedule, perform, and document a proactive preventative maintenance schedule that prolongs equipment life while reducing risks to our customer’s AV infrastructure and dependencies.
- Provide recommendations on spares, the O&M spare parts program, equipment usage planning/restock/replenishment, and the tracking of equipment being removed from bench for customer site installations.
- Provide technical assistance to responding field service personnel or support personnel (government and/or other contractor personnel) as they assist the customer and our O&M Team with analysis, solutioning, and resolution.
- Provide to the O&M Team Lead and Program Manager with weekly summaries of the O&M Team’s technical resolutions, resolved issues, major events supported, risks, and feedback from the customer.
OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:This is a full-time position with standard operating hours, Monday-Friday. Hours will be established by the PM with coordination with the customer and the O&M Team Lead. Core hours for this position are typically 8am – 4pm but can be adjusted based on the needs of the customer and the operational tempo.
TRAVEL:
Position may require limited travel to customer sites in the NCR based on team assignments and scheduling that is coordinated with our Program Manager and Site Leads. Travel within the region will be coordinated in advance with the O&M Team Lead, PM, and government personnel associated with the travel (i.e., government site leads, O&M personnel located at that facility).
Qualifications:CLEARANCE: Active and current Top Secret (TS)/SCI upon application, required. The selected candidate would be required to acquire a CI Polygraph to meet the customer's onsite requirements. Active TS/SCI with CI poly is required for onsite work.
EDUCATION:
- Associates Degree AND 5 years of relevant experience; OR,
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 3 years of relevant experience.
CERTIFICATION(S):
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Perform AV system and video teleconference system troubleshooting and repair.
- Manage performance optimization and maintain high levels of availability.
- Provide customer support for AV-related needs.
- Knowledge of photo, video, and graphic design software.
- Ability to determine locations of subject, material, work procedures, sequence, of operations, and machine setups.
- Ability to positions cameras in any of several different camera mounts.
- Familiarity with Biamp, Extron Routers and switchers, AMX/Crestron touch panels and controllers, and CISCO WEBEX (a plus).
- Experience in Broadcast or Audio Video Systems processes and equipment management.
- Capable of:
- AV editing
- Troubleshooting all broadcast equipment
- Installing studio upgrades
- Maintaining studios under routine TV Ops including setting up lights, cameras and cabling, install and manage setup and storage of broadcast lighting, audio systems, cameras, editing and production, specialized imaging, computer-based hardware, teleconferencing, teleprompter, backdrops & props, backup files and software, update drawings, develop standard test procedures and equipment to conduct functional and operational tests.
- 3 years' experience in:
- Computer systems/network engineering/IP video streaming technologies
- Performing and updating technical security assessments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established IA standards and regulations, recommend and implement mitigation strategies
- Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and system security designs
- Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the systems life cycle
- Complete security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, accreditation, and testing activities for systems
- Perform installation, configuration, account and signature maintenance, patch management, and troubleshooting of operational IA and CND.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certified Broadcast Television Engineer (CBTE), Certified Broadcast Networking Engineer (CBNE), Industry Certification in IP Streaming Technologies, Certified Technology Specialist-Designer (CTS-D), Cisco Network Administrator (CNA), or equivalent certification highly desirable
- Crestron training/certifications within the fields of design, engineering, and/or programming
- Extron training/certifications within the fields of design, engineering, and/or programming
- Proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications, Risk Management Framework, and Xacta highly desirable.
- Experience with design programs such as CAD/AutoCAD and Visio.

Pay Range: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
