Job Details
We are seeking a hands-on, tech-savvy Building Automation Startup Technician to join our team in Phoenix. In this role, you will be responsible for the startup, testing, and commissioning of cutting-edge building automation systems (BAS) for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Perform startup and functional testing of BAS systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
- Verify the correct installation and operation of field devices, controllers, and network communication.
- Ensure systems are calibrated and perform to the design specifications and client requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve any technical issues or malfunctions in control systems during the startup phase.
- Work with the project team and subcontractors to address and fix wiring, programming, or equipment issues.
- Upload, modify, and debug BAS control sequences, logic, and programming to meet specific project needs.
- Test and verify system programming in coordination with design engineers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate startup, testing, and commissioning reports.
- Document all field modifications, final settings, and system performance metrics.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate schedules and ensure timely project completion.
MUST HAVE:
- 2+ years of experience in BAS/BMS systems, HVAC controls, or similar technical roles.
- Strong understanding of control systems, DDC, and networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Distech, Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Trane, Delta Controls, Automated Logic, or other
