ROLE MISSION
The Senior Battery Process Engineer will report directly to the CTO and is entrusted with the mission to lead and inspire technological excellence, propelling ADVANO to the forefront of innovation in the battery materials and energy storage space, with a specific focus on advancing REALSi technologies.
The mission of this position is advancing manufacturing techniques specifically tailored for Advano’s proprietary Si/C composite materials. The overarching goal is to refine these processes to ensure they can be seamlessly scaled up, optimized for efficiency, and made cost-effective, all while focusing on the in-house development of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coatings. The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in production environments, particularly focusing on sustaining activities to ensure that manufactured products meet the target specifications. Additionally, they should have research or industry experience in PVD, CVD, and PECVD deposition technologies. Another aspect of this position involves close collaboration with materials engineers to explore and integrate innovative materials seamlessly into the existing manufacturing framework.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
Advanced Degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering or related field 5 years of experience is required; and 5 years of relevant work experience in the active anode or battery industry will be considered.
Lead the development of battery anode electrodes and processes for next-generation, high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries.
Innovate and assess novel silicon-carbon composite materials through laboratory-scale processes.
Implement the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method to apply conformal and high-quality coatings to Si/C composites.
Design and optimize CVD processes tailored specifically for Advano’s Si/C composites to identify optimal deposition parameters.
Analyze coating performance in relation to materials and process variables, continually improving the CVD process to achieve desired coating characteristics.
Evaluate electrode performances, establishing correlations with materials and process parameters, and drive process optimization to meet target cell performance specifications.
Work closely with the manufacturing team to facilitate the scale up production.
Entrepreneurial “out of the box” thinker who is creative, responsive, flexible, and able to productively challenge business paradigms.
Broad based knowledge of silicon anode materials and applications, preferably with a global perspective to effectively interact within an international marketplace with diverse internal drivers for change.
Strong ability to influence technical and business team and get consensus about the decisions taken.
Market know-how, good expertise of silicon material applications in li-ion batteries.
Proven interpersonal skills and successful key partnering demonstrated at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to communicate with all levels of the management team, effectively listen and incorporate ideas into better solutions ensuring the achievement of company and functional goals.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills for clarity with succinct delivery of messages for organizational alignment.
