As a Senior Manager, North American Benefits you will oversee the design, implementation, administration, and communication of all benefits programs for StandardAero employees in Canada and the U.S. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and exceptional communication abilities to effectively manage and convey benefits information to employees, HRM’s and leaders at all levels.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive benefits strategies that align with StandardAero's business objectives and employee needs
- Oversee the administration of health, welfare, retirement, and other benefit programs for Canadian and U.S. employees
- Acquisition integration
- Lead/manage direct report(s)
- Ability to communicate and market the company benefits to employees, HRM’s and leaders
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other applicable laws in Canada and the U.S.
- Manage relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure optimal service and cost-effectiveness
- Lead the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process, including plan design, employee communications, and system updates
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of current benefits programs and recommend enhancements based on industry trends and employee feedback
- Working closely with the broker and Finance prepare and manage the benefits budget, including forecasting and expense tracking
- Develop and deliver clear, concise, and engaging communication materials to educate employees about their benefits options and promote utilization
- Provide guidance and support to HR and management teams on benefits-related issues and inquiries
- Conduct regular benefits training sessions for HR staff and employees
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to ensure StandardAero remains competitive in the marketplace
What skills you will require:
- 4+ years of experience in Benefits Administration
- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements in United States
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner based on the audience
- Proven experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration software and the ability to work closely with HRTS
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Be able to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience in leadership/managerial role
- Certification in benefits (e.g., CEBS, CBP)
- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements in Canada
