We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage all financial records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of transactions and follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Administer payroll processes, ensuring accuracy of calculations, compliance with tax regulations, and timely disbursements.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to complete routine bookkeeping tasks and assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of all financial transactions.
- Assist with tax preparation and filing, including compiling necessary documentation and liaising with external tax professionals.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow reports to keep management informed of financial status.
- Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and provide required information and documentation.
- Train and support junior bookkeeping staff in accounting processes and the use of accounting software.
- Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation and implement necessary changes in bookkeeping practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial data management and reporting across the organization.
- Provide recommendations to improve financial performance
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Office applications
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Ability to prepare financial statements and reports
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with tax preparation and knowledge of tax regulations is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience with conducting internal audits and reconciling bank statements
- Familiarity with business and financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
