About the Job
We are seeking an exceptional Business Systems Analyst (BSA) Lead for our IT Digital Payments team that delivers highly available payment capabilities. Our applications handle high volume payment origination, processing, settlement, and support capabilities for our customers and colleagues. By integrating with the bank's most critical applications, we provide core processing for familiar products such as Zelle, The Clearing House Real Time Payments (TCH RTP), and other on-demand and scheduled payments and/or transfers.
The Business Systems Analyst Lead is responsible for owning the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of system behavior. They should understand basic principles of agile delivery, business analysis, and business engagement. They should emphasize business focus on prioritized value, attention to detail, quality, and efficient delivery.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of business issues, provide recommendations for possible solutions, work with Business users and IT value teams to drive decision making and define requirements for application development, ensuring that business needs and IT controls are being met.
- Work closely with the Product Manager (EM), Experience Owner (EO), and Product Owner (PO) to identify cross-impacted teams and obtain a high-level effort related to Epics and Features.
- Complete Use Cases and User Stories to guide application development efforts, working closely with the development and business teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Analyze opportunities to improve application reliability, provide recommendations for possible solutions, and work with IT and Business partners to implement solutions that enhance application and infrastructure reliability.
- Have a strong understanding of APIs, Real Time Service Calls, and external file transfers.
- Perform analysis of compliance vulnerabilities, work with IT and Business teams to eliminate vulnerabilities, support internal and external audit-related activities. Communicate project status and escalate issues as needed.
- Facilitate Product Backlog Items (PBI) review and estimation sessions with the project team.
- Maintain the quality of the Evergreen documentation to ensure reliability for future related efforts or assist with remediating production incidents.
- Work with the team to build user stories for developing APIs on REST architecture.
- Ability to pivot to assist with other members of the teams as the need arises.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in business analysis of product and/or software development.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Any ledgering experience.
- Experience with teams building REST APIs and/or basic knowledge of REST Architecture.
- Payments/payment processing background in one or more of the following: Wires, ACH, Zelle, TCH RTP or Bill Payments preferred, Ledgering, Merchant.
- Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Previous experience with Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall delivery models.
- Strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Has written detailed Use Cases and/or User Stories with Gherkin Acceptance Criteria.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in working in iterative/Agile environment related to middleware development.
- Previous experience with Jira or Azure Dev Ops (ADO) to maintain User Stories and evergreen documentation is preferred.
- Understanding of Agile practices and project rituals.
