Position Description: As a Senior Business Office Manager, you will be at the helm of the business office functions across two facilities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your role will involve managing insurance payments, overseeing accounts receivable refunds, and maintaining comprehensive records related to resident funds, census data, and case accounts. Expertise in Medicare and Medicaid billing is essential for this position.

Ongoing Training and SupportPrincipal Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all business office functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and resident trust funds across both facilities.
Ensure financial systems are accurate, efficient, and compliant with professional accounting practices and governmental regulations.
Prepare and audit billing documents, ensuring compliance with state and federal procedures and addressing any necessary billing corrections.
Accurately file initial and final claims within agency timelines.
Act as a liaison between the agency, facilities, and residents or their responsible parties.
Maintain all necessary records, reports, and files related to resident payments.
Provide assistance to residents and their responsible parties with billing inquiries and upcoming services.
Manage insurance payments, including those from Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMOs, and hospice billing.
Verify payor sources and post payments accurately across both facilities.
Ensure timely receipt of all payments and notify residents and families of their financial obligations, obtaining necessary documentation.
Make monthly phone calls to responsible parties regarding missing payments and follow up on Medicaid applications and pending cases.
Maintain records of outstanding admission packets, new admissions, verifications, and pending cases.
Follow facility processes for handling and accounting for resident funds, ensuring availability for residents or their authorized representatives.
Track census data for accuracy, balance statistical reports, and update resident information in the accounts receivable system.
Assist in preparing reports to track cost reimbursement in relation to census days.
Be prepared to take on additional duties, responsibilities, and activities as they may change or be assigned at any time.
