About Supervision and Regulation
As part of its core mission, the Supervision & Regulation (S&R) Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is responsible for supervising and regulating state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System, bank holding companies, and financial holding companies. Organizations within the boundaries of the Seventh District are located within Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. About the S&R Talent Operations Team
The Talent Operations team is an enablement function in Supervision and Regulation with core responsibilities related to managing performance management, compensation, hiring, position management and timekeeping and for all Supervision and Regulation (500+) employees.
About the Position
The Senior Human Resource (Business Operations) Analyst will offer the opportunity to drive processes for a 500+ person staff from end to end. The work will require strong analytical and influencing skills along with the ability to lead and complete complex projects while still being adaptable and building strong relationships at all levels. The level of work required is considered advanced, requires high confidentiality and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. This position has no direct reports.
- Compensation Management: Responsible for managing all facets of the department’s compensation program(s), including but not limited to the promotion process, end of year variable pay and merit cycle, pay equity analysis, and incentive and retention agreements. Works very closely with the Bank’s People and Culture’s Compensation team. Responsible for creating and presenting presentations to department leaders on S&R’s compensation practices and policies.
- Reporting: Uses advanced data analysis and spreadsheet skills to create team and ad hoc reports.
- Research: Researches and responds to complex talent issues and prepares and presents proposals on solutions to all levels of staff and leadership.
Your Responsibilities:
- Leads and presents on complex projects; independently develops project plans, timelines and milestones for complex projects
- Effectively use advanced functions of MS Excel to independently manage reporting and analytics
- Draws on professional experiences to develop, maintain, collect and distribute key materials such as project plans, tracking spreadsheets, metrics and/or documentation
- Derives sound analysis of complex topics, conducts thorough and accurate work, supports findings and conclusions, makes recommendations and decisions, and follows-up, as appropriate
- Generates ideas for process improvement initiatives and participates in control activities that establish, maintain and validate standards for the functional area
- Draws on professional experiences and expertise to determine best practices and makes recommendations to improve current business practices; participates in efforts to make changes in business practices
- Prepares and presents both orally and in written form, conclusions and recommendations concerning complex matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Builds and maintains strategic work relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders, such as the department, Bank, other Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors
- Serves as a mentor and/or coach; provides guidance, training and constructive feedback to all levels of staff
Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, degree in HR-related discipline preferred
- Five years of direct work-related experience
- Possess a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate intermediate to advanced analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrate critical thinking and decision-making abilities as well as written and oral communication abilities
- Possess strong teamwork skills and the ability to build and work collaboratively within and across work teams within the department and organization
- Demonstrate the ability to manage time and projects effectively by adjusting quickly to new and different priorities relatively independently
- Demonstrate aptitude to leverage relevant technology and software applications

Location:
This is a Hybrid position. Your presence will be expected at one of the 7th District offices - Chicago (preferred), Des Moines or Detroit.
