Purpose: Comtech Antennas and Service Segment is looking for a Senior Buyer for an onsite role in Orlando to help lead and support the supply chain team on assigned material and services categories. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing assigned categories and negotiating contracts/agreements, pricing, terms, and conditions. We need a sharp and motivated individual ready to help this growing business unit source parts at the best price/value, while ensuring quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to customer, government, and compliance requirements, such as FARs and DFARs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform duties as CO Instructor for Programming (intermediate or advanced level) by delivering highly technical training in a military training environment consisting of lectures, labs, exercises and other delivery methods.
- Assist with developing CO training curriculum (lecture content, student/instructor guides, exams, exercises, simulations, etc.).
- Collaborates with program management, operations, and other departments on requirements for equipment, materials, services, etc.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships to foster collaboration, strategy, and supply chain continuity
- Strategic sourcing and risk mitigation
- Lead the RFQ efforts for assigned category (quote evaluation, negotiation, selection and implementation)
- Resolve issues, drive on-time delivery, negotiate material costs with suppliers and contractors
- Maintain and/or help implement purchasing systems. Support CPSR (Contractor Purchasing System Review), DCAA audits/reviews, and other compliance requirements.
- Initiate requests for quotes (RFQ), places POs and select best supplier(s) based price, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers
- Evaluate and act on excess inventory and obsolete parts
- Supports material planning for the development and production programs
- Track and maintain Change Orders.
- Process non-conforming material requests (NCMR) and RMA requests with vendors in a timely manner.
- Expedite orders in accordance with changes in schedule.
- Maintain records in accordance with contractual requirements and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external company audits and perform suppliers’ surveys and audits as appropriate.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Leadership and strategy for assigned categories
- Supply Chain point of contact for key categories and programs
- Establishes good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Able to excel in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Knowledgeable with FAR/DFAR
- Able to manage time effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office, MRP/ERP system
- Ability to pass drug test and general background check
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint desired, but not required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance
- 5 years of experience
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, candidate must have;
- An Associate’s degree plus 6 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- A major certification plus 8 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- 10 years of recent specialized experience.
