In the role of Senior Buyer/Planner at Busek, you will be responsible for procuring a variety of custom and commercial off-the-shelf parts, as well as parts manufactured for spacecraft subsystems. Your duties will include executing procurement processes, adhering to standards, and developing operational plans, which encompass RFPs, preparation for negotiations, and cost analysis.
Success in this position requires experience with purchasing activities related to acquiring goods, materials, supplies, and services, ensuring that terms are favorable to the organization.
Busek is an AS9100D certified company, and adherence to specific aerospace manufacturing standards is required.

Day to day activities:
- Identify optimal placement of orders with preferred vendors
- Negotiate pricing and timely delivery of component parts
- Prepare purchase orders, including verifying approval and scheduling deliveries
- Work closely with suppliers to assure on-time and on-quality delivery
- Respond to value stream inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction
- Track and monitor purchase orders, keeping internal users (customers) informed of problems/delays. Communicate any impacts/constraints to appropriate department.
- Maintain digital or hard copy procurement records as needed, such as items, purchases, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
- 5 years of experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members and suppliers
- Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company
- An understanding of purchase order software platforms
- IT skills to troubleshoot essential computer programs
- Ability to read and interpret documents (blueprint) and carry out instructions in written, oral and diagram form.
