Senior Estimator:

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team and play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for our diverse range of projects.

Position Overview: The Senior Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for earthworks and underground wet utility projects. This role requires extensive experience in estimating for commercial and residential site development projects, proficiency in Bid2Win and HCSS software, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of earthworks and utility installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate Preparation:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine estimating requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for earthworks, grading, excavation, and underground wet utilities.
  • Analyze bid documents and assess project risks to ensure accurate bid submissions.

• Software Utilization:

  • Utilize Bid2Win and HCSS software to develop and manage estimates, track project costs, and generate reports.
  • Ensure efficient use of estimating software to improve accuracy and streamline the estimating process.

• Cost Analysis:

  • Quantify and price materials, labor, and equipment required for each project.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Develop detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals for client review.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify project details.
  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to address any questions or issues related to estimates and bids.

• Bid Management:

  • Prepare and submit bid proposals in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Review and analyze bid results to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for future bids.

• Market Research:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.
  • Conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing and incorporate current best practices into estimates.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bid documents, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on estimating performance and project status.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in earthworks and underground wet utilities. 
• Proficiency in Bid2Win and HCSS software, excellent analytical and mathematical skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Deep understanding of earthworks, grading, excavation, and underground utility installation processes and costs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
