Senior Civil Inspector at AG Consulting

AG Consulting Engineering, PC (AG), a design, engineering and construction management firm headquartered in New York is looking for 2 Senior Civil Inspectors.

 POSITION – Two (2) Senior Civil Inspectors, starting immediately.

LOCATION – Port Newark, NJ.

SCOPE – Construction Management and Inspection Services associated with structural pile and concrete repairs. Occasionally provide Construction Management Services associated with civil infrastructure-based work.

REQUIREMENTS –

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written; verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff, PA tenants, and contractors.

Ability to read plans and specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.

 Identify potential extra work issues and keep Resident Engineer advised of issues.

Prepare estimates of extra work.

Prepare related sketches and documentation.

Review plans for constructability and prepare comments.

Review contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree Civil Engineering. Structural Preferred.

• Minimum 10-years’ experience inspecting structural construction work.

• Minimum 3-years’ experience inspecting civil construction work.

• Ability to pass a Federal Security Background Check and obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC

Must have a valid driver's license.

• Night and weekend shifts will be required on an as needed basis.

• Trained in fall protection, trench excavation, confined space and permit required confined space OSHA regulations and 30-hr OSHA construction safety training.

• Any associated Structural Certifications
