The Cloud engineer builds tools from the ground up to meet the needs of mission-critical applications, and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems.
Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions.
Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements.
The Cloud engineer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.

How you'll make your mark?
GreenLake Cloud Platform team is seeking a Cloud Engineer who thrives on a challenging and fast-paced environment. The focus of this position will be to develop, design, lead and automate end-end customer-centric application and tools. On this team you will be part of a highly dynamic team and making an impact on the business as you work to design customer focused engineering techniques and systematically build solution test environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, Plan, automate and deploy automation and tools for the cloud platform
- Work with technical leaders and architects to understand new SaaS product requirements
- Understand, participate, provide inputs to Dev for functional, design and test specs and other design documentation.
- Plan, design, test and automate common library framework and test scenarios for different features
- Work with team of software engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms deployed on-prem and to the cloud.
- Work with other corresponding Dev teams, Product mgmt., Customer Support and Platform teams to understand customer use cases
- Collaborate withResponsibilities dev and functional QA teams and participate in technical communication with all relevant stakeholders
- Manage and expand relationships with other QA partners on software systems test and automation.
- Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with customer use cases, end-end workflows, industry deployments, guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
- Drives innovation and integration of new test technologies and methods into projects and activities in the software design and development organization
- Own the automation strategy, guide team to build automation libraries, tools required, simulate user stories and utilize existing tools wherever possible as a part of new feature testing or as a part of the sustaining process for released/deployed software.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
Requirements/Experience:
- Strong automation background, preferable in Python and Selenium
- Experience in software testing methodology, tools, developing test strategy, test planning and test execution
- Experience with multiple software quality assurance tools and processes, CI/CD tooling - Jenkins, GitHub, API/GUI testing
- Competence in setting up monitoring tools and alerts.
- Experience in Build, test, and deploying software using CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with REST APIs, Cloud application monitoring tools
- Strong aptitude in troubleshooting / problem-solving and are a team player
- Self-motivated, good verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working in an Agile methodology (rapid iterations, rapid releases, etc)
- Ability to write clear and articulate functional and test specifications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and take on a variety of roles as needed
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in overall architecture and software design for products and solutions
- Experience with design and integration of software running on multiple platform types.
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when needed
Qualifications
- First level university degree or equivalent experience required, electrical or computer engineering preferred. May have advanced university degree.
- Typically, 8-10 years of related work experience
- Prior experience working in SDET/Customer engineering/Customer focused/Tools engineering
Nice to Have
- Some experience in Cloud technologies like AWS, Azure or GCP, preferably in AWS.
- Knowledge of containerization and Docker.

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S. -based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. Annual Salary: $128,000.00 - $295,000.00
