Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Keep NPGA members informed on key industry developments, sharing actionable insights on new regulations, technologies, and safety practices related to propane storage, handling, and transport.
- Codes and Standards Development: Participate in the development and refinement of uniform codes and standards (NFPA, ICC) while gaining fluency in other national codes and standards (ANSI, NIST, CSA, and more). NPGA will provide the training and resources to help you become an expert in these areas.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You'll work closely with NPGA’s internal teams, including Communications and Regulatory Affairs, as well as industry experts, to ensure cohesive advocacy and development of codes and standards.
- Advocacy: Work with industry partners and advisory groups to advance research in areas such as emissions reduction, vehicle engines, and renewable fuels, shaping the future of propane in both clean energy and traditional uses.
- Member Support: Provide expert guidance to NPGA members, resolving complex technical inquiries and offering solutions for applying codes and standards in real-world scenarios.

What You’ll Bring
- Relevant Background: A degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, environmental, or fire protection preferred) and at least 3 years of experience in codes, standards, or regulatory work. PE licensure is a bonus but not required.
- Technical and Analytical Skills: Comfort working with technical codes and standards like NFPA and ICC, with a willingness to learn others such as ANSI and NIST.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships with industry stakeholders. You’ll need technical expertise to advocate effectively and the ability to build consensus and navigate committee dynamics.
- Collaboration and Communication: A collaborative mindset with experience working across teams, plus the ability to communicate clearly with both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.

- Competitive salary of $90K–$110K, with additional earning potential for PE-licensed professionals.
