NV5 is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Las Vegas office and service our clients locally and nationally as client and project needs dictate. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and well versed in commissioning, facility engineering, construction, and operations. The markets served include education, healthcare, data centers, commercial, government, and transportation. Duties and responsibilities related to this position are listed below.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for the technical delivery both as a project lead and technical resource of commissioning, retro-commissioning and, energy engineering projects with minimal supervision while completing assignments that require independent judgement and evaluation.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.
- Develop and maintain client relationships. Develop relationships on projects that accrue good will with our existing clients and collaborate with Group Leaders and our management team to extend our existing relationships.
- Develop and manage project specific commissioning plans, commissioning procedures, and schedules from pre-startup to test-adjust-balance field work.
- Perform technical reviews of design documents and submittals specific to HVAC, plumbing, and Building Automation and Control Systems.
- Develop pre-functional checklists and functional performance test procedures.
- Perform functional performance tests on HVAC, Plumbing and Controls systems with stand-alone controls and/or integrated into a building automation system.
- Assist in providing project management and coordination on small to medium size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in building systems commissioning.
- Experience in Data Centers
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
- Able to work as part of a team, think creatively, and problem solve.
- Ability to obtain PE license
- Working knowledge and experience of temperature control systems and system integrators
- Willingness to travel 50%+ as national level projects dictate.
