Market Analysis: Monitor commodity markets and pricing trends to inform accounting practices and financial strategies. Provide insights and recommendations based on market conditions and forecasts.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain the integrity of financial data.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets for commodity-related activities. Collaborate with other departments to create accurate financial forecasts and support strategic planning.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in commodity accounting. Develop and enhance accounting policies and procedures to streamline operations.
Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior accountants and staff. Provide guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development within the accounting team.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, logistics, and finance teams, to ensure seamless coordination and accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commodity accounting or a related field, preferably within the agriculture industry. Proven track record of managing complex accounting functions and financial reporting.
