We are looking for a senior communications specialist who will develop and implement communications strategies and tactics to inform, align and engage team members and customers about Love’s culture, products and services. In this role, you must be a strategist, a business relations partner and strong writer, editor and videographer.
As a strategist, you will brainstorm, plan and execute communication plans in support of key company goals and objectives. Your time management, organizational and project management skills will allow you to work successfully to reach shared outcomes within a multi-functional organization. As a people-person, you have a passion for cultivating and nurturing relationships with business partners and senior leaders. Your interpersonal skills allow you to adapt and flex to different personalities and ways of working to get the job done with excellence. As a writer, editor and videographer, you’re experienced in creating rich storytelling and media, identifying and catering to specific audiences and producing high-quality work that keeps key messaging relevant and clear. Photography and video experience will further help you communicate in this role with customers and employees.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
This senior communications specialist role focuses on business segments within Love’s to positively amplify initiatives, drive customer traffic, influence culture and help retain talent. This means that you will work directly alongside other store support teams on the following:
+ Supporting retail locations by overseeing construction and real estate communications, which includes travel stop openings and Love’s strategic remodel initiative.
+ Amplifying services and solutions, including Gemini Motor Transport, RVs and other income initiatives.
+ Keeping team members in the loop across the enterprise about events, safety and risk and IT. Examples of events include Love’s annual holiday events, including a Christmas Luncheon and manager event and corporate employee appreciation events.
+ Sharing Love’s story internally and externally by spotlighting the culture and team members who exemplify Love’s core values.
You will primarily focus on two sets of audiences – team members companywide and customers we love to serve that need important information to participate in and support initiatives and programs. In this role, you must work to understand the unique perspective of the target audience, which includes their wants, needs and priorities to improve how they interact with the company and one another.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
+ Develop and publish a wide variety of communications, including emails, newsletters, social posts, press releases, videos, reports, etc.
+ Develop strategic communications plans and execute tactics; ensure results reporting and analytics are considered.
+ Create content and support Love’s communication channels.
+ Work closely with IT and support teams to develop product launch campaigns and updates.
+ Coordinate, support and participate in Love’s company events and programs.
+ Innovate and develop channels and audiences to effectively target audiences.
+ Create reports and assess metrics for campaigns and communication efforts.
+ Be proficient in video content creation to lead, produce, and create videos that tell the Love's Family of Companies story, promote its products, and enhance the brand.
+ Passion for strengthening corporate culture and productivity while building a diverse workforce.
SKILLS
+ Demonstrates a passion for the audience experience, which includes designing, writing and creating rich content, and understanding how to use different communication tactics to achieve communication goals.
+ Must be forward thinking and can consider short-term needs, long-term goals and scaling for future growth and innovation.
+ Ability to navigate between strategy and execution. You can develop high-level strategic plans, but you can also produce clean, clear communications and deliverables.
+ Outstanding written and verbal skills with the ability to craft messages and campaigns that quickly inform, motivate behavioral changes and mobilize team members.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and AP writing style, strategic planning skills, collaborative and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
+ Proven experience growing relationships and working with cross-functional teams.
+ Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business challenges and formulate communication strategies that support audience needs and business goals.
+ Inquisitive and quick learner that asks thoughtful questions, listens and applies insights.
+ Experience working with senior leadership to develop strategy and turn data-driven insight and feedback into measurable plans.
+ Proficient knowledge of video production, communication technology tools and platforms, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ Education: bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field.
+ Experience: 8-10+ years of corporate communications experience or agency work.
+ Outstanding content development and writing skills using AP Style.
+ Experience in writing, editing and creating content across all communication platforms and websites, leveraging digital communications management and analytic tools. Media relations experience preferred.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
+ Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
+ Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
+ Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
+ Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
