About the Job
We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant for property damage restorations and commercial mitigations to join our team of experts in Loss Management Services at Rimkus. Our team controls the early emergency services and mitigation phase for restorations and property damage.
The Position requires a strong background and understanding of technical aspects of commercial construction. Knowledge in building envelope systems, construction contracts, project management, building codes, ADA, estimate production utilizing Xactimate and RS Means, construction documentation, fire, water, and mold mitigation and restoration techniques/practices are a must. People hired ideally include former contractors, account managers, and former adjusters who have knowledge of the mitigation phase with restoration experience for large commercial losses.
Responsibilities:Assignments will include preparation of construction cost estimates ranging from Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) to detailed unit cost estimates. Other duties may include gathering photographic evidence, conducting on site investigations with consultants and contractors, insurance adjusters, building consultant type engagements, and review/analysis of repair estimates and invoices prepared by others including engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Provide opinions and, if necessary, expert testimony. Travel may be necessary at times.

Qualifications:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS and Qualifications - Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- 10+ years of industry experience in property damage mitigation, adjusting, and or consulting in related discipline.
- Large loss property claims experience.
- Hands on construction experience in the field of commercial construction is a plus.
- Conducting analysis of contractor invoices.
- Writing narratives and detailed reports.
- Strong invoicing experience.
- General Contractor’s license a plus
- Ability to work remotely from our onsite consultants to develop cost estimates per details gathered during site investigation
- Must be able to create cost estimates utilizing Xactimate and RS Means estimating software.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
