In this role you will provide Contract Services to all Business Units in the Americas World Area, with a primary focus on Procurement and Supply Chain pursuits and a secondary, and as needed, focus on sales-related pursuits, working independently; may be responsible for management and supervision of Contracts Counsel/Specialist.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
+ Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision, including in:
+ Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests;
+ Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;
+ Takes the Contracts Lead role on:
+ Complex international and multi-BU project contracts;
+ Complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);
+ Act as Global Contracts Lead role on Global Strategic Accounts;
+ Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points;
+ May mentor and train Contracts Americas personnel
+ Provides advice during the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals;
+ Interfaces with vendors, customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;
+ Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;
+ Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;
+ Provides contract-related mentorship to Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders;
+ Legal research;
+ Provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, including the application of law;
+ Provides direction to outside counsel on routine matters.

For This Role, You Will Need:
+ Law Degree
+ Relevant years of work experience in a contracts-related role commensurate with the level of the position.
+ Licensed to practice law in US or Emerson applicable jurisdiction
+ Strong Coaching & mentoring skills
+ Intermediate MS Office skills
+ Excellent oral and written English
+ Excellent negotiation skills
+ Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles
+ Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties
+ Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $160,876 - $215,638 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
