About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Control Engineer to lead the way in designing, implementing, and optimizing process control systems for refined products and petrochemical pipelines. In this role, you’ll work with advanced PLC (Allen Bradley Control Logix) and HMI (Wonderware Intouch) platforms to boost operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. You’ll collaborate with local operations teams, provide mentorship, and solve complex problems—making a lasting impact in a critical industry.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of process control systems for pipeline operations.
- Develop and optimize PLC and HMI systems for peak performance and safety.
- Work closely with operations teams and contractors to ensure seamless system integration.
- Conduct analysis to enhance existing control systems, ensuring they meet industry safety and regulatory standards (API, NFPA, ISA).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
- Be on-call for critical troubleshooting and support, with limited travel (10%).
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Control Systems, or related field).
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in process control, preferably within midstream energy operations.
- Expert-level proficiency with PLC systems, specifically Allen Bradley, and HMI systems like Wonderware Intouch.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards around loop tuning, safety systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with teams and contractors.

Qualifications: Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Control Systems, or a related field). Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design, implementation, and support of process control systems in storage and pipeline operations (including crude oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas). Candidates with at least 3 years of relevant experience will also be considered. PLC & HMI Expertise: Extensive experience with PLC configuration (specifically Allen Bradley Control Logix) and HMI development (including Wonderware Intouch) is required. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of loop tuning, safety systems, ISA documentation standards, and process control system design. Process Control Experience: Strong understanding of process control systems, automation, and instrumentation in pipeline and storage operations. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with operations teams, contractors, and technical experts at all levels. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various industrial environments. Travel & On-Call Availability: Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and provide 24/7 on-call support as needed.
