Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Senior Controls Engineer specializing in SCADA Systems with proficiency in Ignition and CODESYS, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for our farms. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks including system design, programming, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to our team. The role demands a high level of expertise in SCADA systems, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of SCADA systems utilizing Ignition 8.0 and CODESYS 3.5.
Conduct detailed system analysis and engineering design to meet project requirements and stakeholder specifications.
Program and configure SCADA applications, HMI screens, and PLCs to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Perform system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
Provide technical expertise and support to project teams and clients during system installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
Develop comprehensive documentation including system design specifications, user manuals, and technical reports.
Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in SCADA systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in controls engineering with a focus on SCADA systems.
Proficiency in Ignition software is essential; certification in Ignition is a plus.
Python/Jython programming within Ignition environment.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Wago, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), especially CODESYS 3.5. with Structure Text.
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.
Familiarity with database systems (SQL, MySQL) and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Ability to travel to project sites as required and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and concisely.
