What We're Looking For
Cross River's Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with current regulations, and as Senior Corporate Counsel, you play a key role. We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues.

Responsibilities:
- Assist and provide clear and concise legal and regulatory advice and support to Bank management and all Bank business and control functions on all aspects of:
- General U.S. banking laws, regulations and related guidance
- Financial crime compliance laws and regulations (e.g., BSA/AML and OFAC sanctions)
- Supervision and enforcement matters
- Third-party risk management
- Prepare, file, track, and assist with all regulatory applications and notices, and work on post-approval integration matters relative to the application or notice.
- Engage with the Project Management Office to ensure timely execution against regulatory commitments and deliverables.
- Monitoring and advising on the scope and impact of regulatory changes to all applicable bank laws, regulations and guidance (proposed and finalized) on internal policies, controls and compliance.
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.
- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.
- Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders throughout Internal and External partners.
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
- Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years' experience as an attorney
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
- Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
- Juris Doctorate degree required, along with admission to a US State Bar
- MA or LLM will be considered an advantage

Salary Range: $250,000.00 - $300,000.00
