About the Job
This Senior Corporate Tax Accountant will prepare the tax payments and returns for our clients and will be responsible for suggesting compliant tax plans that will benefit our company's financial health. You will be responsible for filing tax forms, deciphering tax laws, reviewing market developments, and producing tax reports.
The Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of employer payroll tax accountant experience, in a high volume, multi-employer and/or PEO setting, with extensive knowledge of tax law, commissions payouts, general ledger and EOY tax reporting.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Assist with PEO License compliance & Payroll Tax Account maintenance as required by state;
- Gather information as needed from Payroll System and State Website to complete Monthly, Quarterly, Annual filings;
- Sending client information to add and terminate status of clients to the PEO license compliance team;
- Communicate with outside consultants/vendors and license compliance team;
- CPA Letter as required by state;
- State Registration Secretary of State;
- Surety Bonds;
- W2 Processing;
- State Registration for Employer - SUTA, State Withholding, Local tax accounts;
- Power of Attorney for PEOs and Clients for all Payroll Tax filing purposes;
- Process Payroll Taxes (Handle Notices, Liens, Payment Plans, & Regular Deposits);
- Federal tax deposits, state tax deposits, quarterly and annual filing and amendments as needed for multiple states
- Send Quarterly Client Tax reports to Payroll Representative to submit to client;
- Audit Client Taxes billed vs Taxes filed/Paid by PEO for accuracy;
- W2 customer service as needed;
- Assist in Audits and Audit Projects relating to Worker’s Compensation & Taxes;
- Assist with Maintenance of Payroll System, Tax System, Licensing System align with PEO/Payroll compliance;
- Other duties may be assigned as need by management.
- Proven work experience as a credible tax accountant or similar role;
- Good command of Microsoft Office and accounting programs;
- Thorough understanding of bookkeeping and accounting procedures;
- Strong analytical abilities, with attention to detail;
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities;
- PEO/ASO business organization and Payroll Tax reporting all states in the U.S;
- Payroll Journal Reports;
- Worker’s Compensation Audits and know how it relates to Taxes;
- Payroll and Client Reporting;
- MasterTax Experience
- Filing federal taxes, state taxes, and various other employer related taxes
- Attention to detail, quick learner and ability to check and balance work, meeting deadlines;
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred;
- 3-5 years of payroll tax accounting experience; in filing employer taxes and tax forms; 940, 941, and various
- state tax filings and returns
- CPP or FPC certification a plus.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard;

- Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate;
- Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic);
- Ability to work in a confined area;

Salary Range: $78,000 - $90,000
With Supervisory Experience: $90,000 - $100,000
