Position Overview:
Our client is a leading provider of engineering services, offering comprehensive solutions across various industries including oil & gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, and power generation. Their expertise lies in delivering high-quality engineering and project management services, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects within our diverse portfolio. You will play a crucial role in supporting project planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting, ensuring that all project costs are effectively managed and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Cost Estimation:
o Develop and maintain comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including bridges, tunnels, rail, and utilities.
o Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify key cost factors and potential risks.
o Gather and evaluate cost data from multiple sources, including vendors, suppliers, and historical project data.
· Project Management (Mid-Level Position):
o Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources for structural and geotechnical projects.
o Coordinate with public transportation agencies such as the MBTA and Mass DOT to ensure project compliance and alignment with agency requirements.
o Oversee project execution, monitor progress, and address any issues or changes that arise.
· Collaboration:
o Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to develop cost-effective solutions and strategies.
o Liaise with stakeholders and agencies to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
· Cost Control and Reporting:
o Monitor and track project costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates and forecasts.
o Prepare and present detailed cost reports and summaries, highlighting key findings and recommendations for cost management.
· Risk Management:
o Identify and assess potential cost and project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
· Continuous Improvement:
o Stay current with industry trends, cost estimation methodologies, and best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation processes.
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst – CCEA) is a plus.
