Job Purpose & Summary
This position is part of a team to support the implementation of an enterprise CRM solution. Our client is working with Kana professional services on a 3 year project to implement the Kana Enterprise (Ciboodle) product. The team will be using a modified Agile SDLC.
This position will be responsible for the customization and development effort within the Kana Enterprise (Ciboodle) product. The CRM Developer will work directly with the other disciplines on the Agile team and be responsible for development, testing and documentation within the Kana Enterprise (Ciboodle) product. The CRM developer will also be responsible to build integration from Kana to the client's SOA and other technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Development (80-85%)
Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree computer science and five plus years of programming experience or an equivalent combination of skills, experience with training and/or certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Development (80-85%)
- Code/Administer application solutions that are complex in nature. Adhere to defined processes and procedures to ensure the quality of Kana solutions with wide latitude for independent judgment.
- Perform the most complex coding and programming tasks
- Integration of Customer Experience and Usability designs.
- Integration with relational back-end applications such as DB2.
- Integration with Service Oriented Architecture.
- Integration with other third party and custom applications.
- Develop and execute unit tests and functional test coverage for assigned coding changes to ensure code quality
- Perform testing of application software modifications utilizing various programming platforms and productivity tools and review results for accuracy
- Performs the most complex coding and testing in multiple systems and/or processes; work product is considered the highest quality by reviewers.
- May alter existing test data or create new test data to ensure successful results of modifications to program code.
- Adhere to defined processes and procedures to ensure the quality of the technical solution
- Adhere to Agile SDLC principles and participate on an Agile team

Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree computer science and five plus years of programming experience or an equivalent combination of skills, experience with training and/or certification.
- Basic experience in MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel)
- 4+ years of relevant experience developing custom software solutions
- Bachelor degree, preferably in a computing related discipline
- Experience with several of the following:
- CRM applications custom development (KANA Enterprise, Sword Ciboodle)
- J2EE – Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JSF, Web Services
- Languages – Java, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, XML, XSL/XSLT, Ant, CSS
- Write Stylesheets to transform XML into HTML and/or XML
- Frameworks - Struts v1.1 and higher, Hibernate, Velocity, log4j, AJAX, Maven, Spring
- Design Patterns – Singleton, DAO, Façade, Factory Lookup, etc.
- Batch Scripting – Csh, Bsh, Dos Batch scripting
- Database –DB2 is preferred, but experience with any relational database
- Ruby on Rails, C/C++, C#, VB, .NET, VB, Perl, PHP, Microsoft developer studio and tools
- Team collaboration tools such as Confluence
- Issue tracking software such as Jira
- Web Servers IBM WebSphere is preferred, but experience with any web servers
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Test execution including unit and systems integration testing
- UI design principles (reuse, structure, feedback, visibility, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge and concepts of purchased commercial systems – maintenance, upgrades and customizations.
- Skilled in client/server and web architectures.
- Understanding of Agile development process and principles
- Skilled in SQL and databases
- Experienced in concepts, characteristics, and capabilities of information technology hardware, software and networks.
- Strong documentation habits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with Kana
- Working knowledge and understanding of the student financial aid industry
