The Sr. Security Operations Analyst is responsible for security monitoring and incident response for internal and external threats. The Sr. Security Operations Analyst performs advanced threat analysis, collaborates with internal IT teams and MSSP for security monitoring response, improves correlation and monitoring of security events, and leads security monitoring projects.

 

 

This is a 10-month W2 contract assignment with the opportunity for contract extension or to transition to a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Sr. Security Operations Analyst :

• Security Monitoring:

  • Investigate and respond to security threats using DLP, SIEM, EDR, AV, IDS, and other tools.
  • Monitor SaaS, cloud, network, servers, and endpoints for malicious activity.
  • Develop automation scripts for threat remediation and conduct threat hunting.
  • Maintain security documentation, playbooks, and processes.

• Incident Response:

  • Collaborate with IT and MSSP services to resolve incidents.
  • Analyze compromised systems to identify root causes.
  • Stay updated on threat actor TTPs (tactics, techniques, procedures) for quick identification.
  • Plan and document incident handling processes.

• Emerging Threats & Support:

  • Monitor and stay updated on the latest security threats.
  • Assist with investigating and resolving security issues through the service desk.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications of the Sr. Security Operations Analyst:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in security monitoring, incident response, and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, IDS, AV.
• Strong SIEM analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: CISSP, GSEC, CISA, GCIA, GCFA, or CISM.
• Network/System administration background.
