We are seeking a Senior Data Governance SME to join our team to support our government clients' data governance programs. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expertise in the areas of data governance, management, quality, and stewardship to support client engagements. The candidate will demonstrate an ability to execute data-driven strategies to identify risks and mitigation approaches. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilitating change and customer engagement as it relates to maturing data management, data governance, and data stewardship across complex enterprises. This should include a demonstrated understanding of the theory and practice of the technical and organizational change activities required.

This role will ideally be located in the Washington, D.C. area, but we are open to the position being remote.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to Group Manager or Regional Manager for administrative matters. May have individual contributor direct reports.
Salary Range:
$135-165k
Notice:
This position requires access to information that is subject to control by the Export Administration Regulations and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. What You Will Do:
- Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to client program and project staff; including development of detailed plans, analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical data challenges/issues
- Advise and assist to develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to advance data management and ensure compliance with government regulations and standards
- Advise and assist to design and maintain data quality improvement and monitoring processes to enhance the accuracy and completeness of data
- Advise and assist to evaluate existing data models, structures, and data flow to identify areas for improvement
- Advise and assist to design and maintain a data taxonomy to facilitate data classification and organization
- Advise and assist to design metadata management strategies and the implementation of tools to capture data documentation such as data dictionaries, lineage, and other metadata
- Work with stakeholders to develop a network of data stewards and advise and assist to develop and execute data governance training
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in data governance and data management
- Experience providing expertise in the areas of data governance, management, quality, and stewardship in support of government agencies
- Background in facilitating change and customer engagement as it relates to maturing data management, data governance, and data stewardship across complex enterprises
- Demonstrated experience working with data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Atacamma, OvalEdge, etc.
