Senior Data Management Professional - Data Quality - Securitized Products - Bloomberg
New York, NY
About the Job
Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the entire picture for our clients, around the clock – from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes.
Our Team:
The Global Securitized Products Data Team is responsible for researching and supporting a $12 trillion global securitized product market. The securitized product market uses financial engineering to transform a variety of assets (residential and commercial mortgages, auto and equipment leases, managed corporate loan portfolios, credit card debt, and even music royalties) into securities that are structured to meet nearly any investor appetite.
Our team supports the full data lifecycle and analytical capabilities, through reverse financial engineering, of all securitized products globally for Bloomberg.
This specific team, Securitized Products Client Engagement Team, focuses on supporting our clients’ workflows and building relationships with both external and internal stakeholders. There will be numerous initiatives where you will proactively engage with various market participants (Lead Managers, Trustees, Servicers, Issuers, Buy-Side, etc) to help us better procure the data we need and fully understand our client’s data and analysis needs for Securitized Products.
What’s the role?
The Client Engagement team is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, quality and technology to build and optimize our data product by developing and implementing our data quality strategy and quality assurance practices. As a Data Management Professional, you will help to develop our business outcome-based data strategies to optimize the value of data for our customers and improve data operations. This includes applying industry standard methodologies to devise quality checks and quality metrics in the ETL processes that create, transform and store data, and measure data against standards defined by our clients’ needs.
We’ll trust you to:
+ Develop, refine, and deliver the strategy for how to achieve best-in-class data quality, and nurture organizational change around data quality as a domain of data management
+ Perform data profiling and apply statistical methods to support data quality measurement
+ Closely collaborate with Product and Engineering counterparts to help craft data quality strategy, execution roadmap, define return on investment and technical solutions
+ Educate and empower colleagues in industry principles of data quality, in order to elevate awareness, appreciation and application of these principles more broadly
You’ll need to have:
+ 4+ years of professional experience in Data Quality Management, Quality Assurance Consulting or establishing Data Governance on metrics design within Finance or Technology industries
+ A BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience
+ Understanding of ETL processes and broader data workflow engineering concepts
+ Up-to-date knowledge of events taking place in the financial markets
+ Demonstrable experience in Data Profiling/Analysis using tools such as Python, R, or SQL
+ Experience in crafting and developing data quality metrics and reporting as part of a bigger data architecture framework
+ Ability to lead multiple projects with global scope in parallel, with superb communication and stakeholder management skills
We’d love to see:
+ DAMA CDMP or DCAM certifications
+ Project Management experience and familiarity with JIRA
