Overview
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Data Processing Engineer to join our organization in our Milford Global HQ, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.
You will join our QA/QC R&D organization which develops liquid chromatography instrumentation hardware and software in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will be part of an agile team on a mission to develop the next generation of Empower CDS Apps for the cloud. In this role, you, will be an individual contributor responsible for understanding and implementing algorithms related to Chromatographic data processing including peak integration, calibration, and quantitation. You will also keep current to incorporate advances in this field into Empower future releases.
To be successful in this role, you need to have a solid computational background, good understanding of numerical methods, statistics, regression analysis and familiarity with AI/ML, and a passion for scientific learning and achievement. Prior experience with data processing systems and algorithms is highly desirable. You also need to be comfortable with developing complex software following Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Understand and implement Chromatography Data processing algorithms in a cloud environment.
- Strive to become a subject matter expert in Chromatography Data processing.
- Interface with product stakeholders to drive and refine requirements through proactive planning and defining of short-term and long-term deliverables.
- Communicate project progress and provide regular reports to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, bioinformatics, chemistry or mathematics. (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Five years+ demonstrated experience in algorithm development, numerical methods, regression analysis, statistics, and machine learning.
- Strong C#, .Net Core. Python, Ability to read and understand legacy C++.
- Development tools including JIRA, Visual Studio and GitHub,
- Understanding of scalability, performance, and maintainability considerations for software development.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in processing Chromatographic data from UV and MS detectors.
- Experience with algorithms relevant to peak integration, calibration, quantitation, and size exclusion.
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud concepts and services including Docker Containers and Microservices.
- Experiences in Empower or other CDS software preferred.
- Experience working in a cross functional product team with hardware and software components.
