ABOUT THE TEAM
The JCG is seeking a Senior Product Manager of Customer & Marketing Data to act as the custodian and product owner of all data leveraged by marketing and data science teams for informing marketing strategy and tactics. As a product manager, you bring to the table user centricity, an analytical mindset and ability to join the dots across complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders. You enjoy collaborating with a broad set of stakeholders, especially in the marketing, technology, and analytics teams. You are equally comfortable discussing strategic perspectives and goals with VPs while forming and executing tactical plans with ICs to realize the goals. You bring product thinking to the table and apply it to how we manage our data assets, tracking them against a specific and measurable set of performance criteria. You are extremely business-centric and looking to make a direct impact on business outcomes.
What you’ll do
As Senior Data Product Manager of Customer & Marketing Data your core objective is to build and maintain high fidelity & insightful data across tools used by end stakeholders.
Acting as a Product owner to manage full-cycle of JCG customer & marketing data pipelines, the CDP platform, data science models, customer KPIs and metrics
Acting as representative for end users of customer data in various cross-functional settings, informing decisions about system changes and impact to user workflows, planning and managing execution to enable smooth implementation of projects impacting customer and marketing data
Developing features in data to serve new use cases and maintaining a robust inventory of use cases for customer data across the marketing and technology ecosystem
Working with stakeholders to build and maintain documentation pertaining to definitions of metrics & KPIs, inventory of reporting products, data models & data science models
Build communication channels to understand business needs and ensure all stakeholders are abreast of development and changes to the customer data platform
Run a program for holistic QA of data which includes preventive, detective and corrective controls. Act as primary agent to resolve any challenges or concerns cited about data quality from end users
Lead initiatives to educate and train users about capabilities of data products, resolve bugs and concerns partnering across the technology organization and with vendors for resolution as required
Manage work pipeline and prioritization for SaaS vendors, consultants and freelancers working on projects related to customer and marketing data
Act as scrum master for the data science team planning and reviewing sprints, hosting standups, removing roadblocks and refining projects
Previous Experience
5+ of combined experience in analytics and product management roles independently leading development and managing stakeholder groups across the organization
5+ years of data engineering and architecture experience
3+ years of experience partnering with marketing and sales organizations
3+ Experience acting as product manager for development and deployment of data pipelines, reporting and data science models involving multiple source systems and destinations
2+ years of experience working in a retail ecosystem or similar environment with marketing channel data, transactional data, clickstream / event data, OMS data
2+ years of experience working with following or equivalent platforms: Acquia (CDP), Merkle (Loyalty), Google Analytics / Omniture, Acxiom
2+ years of experience working closely with vendors, managing project scope, schedules and SLAs
Comfort working alongside data scientists, analysts, data engineers and BI developers with an understanding of their concerns and skillsets
Experience working in B2C retail & ecommerce highly desirable but not mandatory
Must have experience using JIRA and Confluence or other similar project management tools like Smartsheet
Previous experience and familiarity with
Understanding of the marketing data ecosystem, customer metrics
Proven experience of successfully working with stakeholders across the organization, especially marketing teams and influencing decisions pertaining to usage of data & insights for decisions
Good to have but not must have – SQL & PowerBI skills
