Overview: M Health Fairview is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Storage Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will manage storage services across multiple environments, design and support advanced storage solutions, and provide effective solutions for storage-related issues. This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, effective communication skills, and the capability to work independently. The role is primarily remote with occasional travel to our Stinson DC in Minneapolis, MN, and on-call support as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, develop, and support advanced storage solutions optimized for performance and scalability across various computing environments.
- Utilize Linux command line skills to support and maintain storage configurations for SAN, NAS, and scale-out object storage devices.
- Manage and review storage configurations, including SAN, NAS, and object storage platforms.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software installation, as well as troubleshooting.
- Provide on-call support and availability for installation, change control, and troubleshooting as required.
- Ensure effective communication with team members and stakeholders regarding storage solutions and issues.
Qualifications (Must Have):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM field, with 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive experience designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting SAN, NAS, and Object storage solutions (e.g., Pure, Dell/EMC, NetApp).
- Proficiency with fiber channel configurations, fiber channel switches, tape libraries, and multipath configurations.
- Experience with enterprise backup architecture, particularly with CommVault backup solutions.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Experience with Block and File Storage in a cross-protocol system administration environment.
- Proficiency with Brocade Fiber Channel administration.
- Experience with backup systems like CommVault, Cohesity, and Rubrik.
- Experience with the design and initial build of cross-protocol storage solutions.
- Knowledge of Storage Architecture and Trade Studies.
- Familiarity with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
- Experience using automation frameworks such as Ansible or Chef.
